An Enthralling Mount Batur Climb

Bali has always been named as the ‘city of temples’, but there are other treasures hidden here that are ready to be explored. One such treasure that is housed in the sacred city is the gigantic active volcano – Mount Batur.

The 1700 meters high mountain has been a great tourist attraction, urging tourists to book tour packages to Bali. It is suggestible to look for a guide, members of the Association of Mount Batur Trekking Guides, while climbing or trekking this mountain. The guides will help you to choose the right track to climb the mountain, as the track changes with the change in volcanic activities. The guides even suggest cooking eggs on the lava-heated rocks just to remind that the volcano is still active. One can take the thick forest route, Toya Bungkah, to trek their way through the mountain.

Alternatively, they can opt for Pura Jati route, the route with lava fields and harsh underfoot conditions. Climbers prefer to climb during the pre-dawn time, as it offers more clarity in weather and routes. Once at the top the view of the city will leave you awe-struck!  It is famously known as the ‘sunrise climb’ among the locals and travelers. Perched in northern Bali, the active Mount Batur can cause earthquakes and tremors in the city.

Although the best time to visit Bali is during the months of May, June and July, one can always find pleasure in the cool weather of the winter season. So, the next time you visit Bali make two hours time to climb this magnificent mountain and witness the city in a completely different outlook. Also, make sure to book lucrative holiday packages with guide for a hassle-free trip.
